Councilmen Applewhite. Crandall. Hansen. Koozer. Absent: Councilmen Blake. Ingle. The
Citizen's Budget Conmdttee oonsisting of' J. H. Hardy. Thos. H. Siinpson. Wirt Wright.
Fred Tayler. Melvin Kaegi and G. W. Dunn were all present.
The Mayor sta'ted 'the purpose of the join't meeting was to pass on 'the budget for
'the year 1939. Fred Tayler was eleoted ohairmen and J. H. Hardy, secretary. Copies of
'the details of all estima'ted expenditures and es'timated revenues for 'the year were pro-
vided and taken up. discussed end adopted. . , ,
As representative of the,Park Conmdssion -Uere presen't. it was deoided to 'take up the
O'Park Budget first end Louis Dodge. Chairman of 'the Ashland Park Conmdssion spoke regard-
ing 'the needs of that department.
Moved by Koozer end seconded by Wright that 'the budget f'or ihe Park Fund be approved
subject to a limitation of 2 mills on the latest assessed valuation or $4.556.00.Carriedj
Moved by Dunn that the estimates for General Government of $5.129.00 be approved. '
Seoonded by Simpson. Carried.
Moved by Kaegi and seoonded by Simpson that the estimates for the Polioe Department
of $9,602.00 be approved. Carried.
Moved by Simpson and seoonded by Wright that the estimates for t he Fire Department
of .7.201.00 be approved. Carried.
Moved by Wright and seoonded by Simpson that the estimates for the Street Depart-
ment of $9.315.00 be approved. Carried.
Moved by Hansen and seconded by Wright that the estimates for 1he Street Lighting and
Li'thie. Fountain & Pump of $5,770.00 be approved. Carried.
Moved by Sinpson and seoonded by Wright that 'the estimates for the Sanitary Depart-
ment be approved for $470.00. Carried.
Moved by Simpson and seoonded by Hansen 'that the estimates for t he Health Depart-
ment of $155.00 be appro oed. Carried.
Moved by Koozer and seoonded by Simpson that the es'timates for the Relief Depart-
men't of $825.00 be approved. Carried.
Moved by Wright and seoonded by Kaegi 'that the estimates for the Hospital Depart-
ment of $1.020.00 be approved, Carried.
Moved by Hansen and seoonded by Koozer 'that the estimates for the Reoreation,Dep-
artment(Band) be approved subjeot to a limitation of 06 of a mill on 'the latest assessed
