The DlOnthly report of the City Judge for Deoember. 1939 ,,-as read, accepted and

Bills amounting to $17.785.90 were read as to'total amount only, same having been-
~ oked by the variou's departments, committees and finance committee and upon motion by
~Applewhite, seconded by Tayler andfollGwing'a unanimous roll call were ordered paid.
, , Upon motion by Applewhite. seconded by Crandall', the accepting of bids for gasoline
for the ooming year ~s referred to the Elec~r1c Conmdttee with power to act. Carried.
Upon motion by Applsvlhite, seconded by Tayler, the ex€enditure of from $176 to
$200 for a sprinking system forthe Cemetery Was approved. arried. ,
The purchase of $260 worth of culvert by bids was authorized upon motion by Taylor,
seconded by Applewhite and carried..
It was reported that a Civic Club representative had protested about the deposit

seconded by Applewhite that the rules be suspended and the Grdinance be passed to the
second reading by title only. Carried. Following the reading by title only the second
time, it was moved by Applewhite and seconded by Tayler that the ordinance be adopted
as res.d. Following a unanimous' roll oall" the aoting Mayor decle.red the ordinance
No. 998 adopted. '
