MINUTES FOR COUNC IL MEETING
The Council met in adjourned session at 5 o'clock on Sept.
ember ..3"Q:.., 1940 with Mayor T. S. Wiley, and Councilmen Ralph
Kooser, O. F. Carson, W. J. Crandall, Fred Taylor and Guy T.
APplewhite present. Absent: Councilman Delsman. In the absence
of J. I Adams, City Recorder, Frank J. Van Dyke was named recorder
pro tem.
The City Attorney'reported that all legal details had been
arranged so that the city was ina position to acquire the Golf
Course. Several representatives of the Golf Clu~ spoke and assured
the Council that the ~olf Club would exercize every effort to
maintain a satisfactory organization and that the course was in
the best shape it had ever been in. After some discussion, it was
moved by Taylor, that the City Recorder be authorized to transfer
~6000.00 from the Electric Department funds to the Golf Purchase
fund of the General fund, and that the Mayor, the Recorder, and
the Treasurer were authorized and directed to payout of said
Golf Purchase fund, the amount of the first mortgage, held by
Bertha E. Winter, and the amount of the taxes, irrigation charges,
abstract expenses, and other expenses incident to purchase; and
any surplus remaining should be transferred to the emergency, fund.
The motion was seconded by Carson and unanimously carried. There
being no further business, the Council adjourned to meet at the
call of the Mayor.
