The Council met in adjourned session at 7.30 P. M. this date. Present. Mayor Wiley.
Councilmen Applewhite, Carson. Crandall, Kcozer, :J:ayler. Absent. COlmcilman Delsman.
The Citizen's Budget Commit~ee consisting of Geo. W. Dunn, Melvin Kaegi, J. H. Hardy,
Henry Enders, Wirt M. Wrigh" and J. P. Daugherty.

of all estima ~ed expendi ~ures and estima~ed revenues for the year 1941 were provided.

Mo~ions were duly made, seconded and carried approving ~he es~imated expenditures
for the Council, Mayor, Recorder, Treasurer, Attorney, Buildings. Elec~ions, Auditing,
Engineer, City Judge and Advertising, comprising ~he General Govermnen~ to,~al. Then ~he
Police Deparbnen~. Fire Departmen~, Stree~ Department, Stree~ Ligh~ing. Lntbia Drink-
ing Fountains, Health Departmen~, Sani~ary Departroen~, Relief Department, Recreation
Departmen~, Hospi~al Department and Miscellaneous Department estimated expenditures
were approved upon motioIJl passed. the to~al of all consi;itu~ing ~he en~ire General
Fund.
The es~imated expenditures of the Library Fuhd was approved. The Park Fund est-
ime.~es were approved subjec~ to a reduction of $2.00 in equipment repairs and mainten-
ancc ~o bring ~he total down tha~ amount in crder to oome lmder the 2! mill levy as
provided by lJ:brter. The Cemetery Fund. SiDking Fund. Eleotrio Fund, Water Fumt and
sewage Disposal Fund ee~imated expehdi. ~ures were then approved in order.
The budget as a whole having been approved as to estima~ed expenditures, ~he es-
timated revenues were next taken in order andthe estimates of the Gemeral Fund, Library
Fund, Park Fund, Cemetery Fund, Electric Fund, liater Fund and Sewage Disposal Fund were!
approved. The budget having been approved in its interity except for the question of
salary changes, the proposed salll.rJ increase of 6% was considered.
Following discussions and opinions of the various members of the oommittee as to
the merit of the increases, it was moved by Kaegi andseconded by Wright that a straiSht
6% increase in salary be approved for the year 1941. Vote was takcn by the Ci then's
Committee only, at f'irst, with the following resukt. Ayes: Wright, Kaegi, Hardy, Enders,
Daugherty. Not voting: Dunn. Carried. Fcllowing this, the question was voted upon by thl
the entire committee with the following result. Ayes. Wright. Carson. Kaegi, TayJzr,
Enders, Applewhite. Hardy, :&augherty. Nays. Koczer. Not voting. Crandalli' Dunn,
Carried.
This matter having been settled, it was IIlOVlld by Hardy and seoonded by Koozer t.'lat
