Councilmen Applewhite, Crandall, Woodell. Absent. COU:lcilmen Carson Koozer. The fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Councilman Delsman, the Mayor appoin'ted Fred A. Tayler, former councilman and upon mo'tion by Crandakk. seconded by Applewhite and followix;.g a unanimous roll oall, the appointmen't was cor.tttmed. Upon motion by Applewhite, the City Attorney was instructed "to prepare a salary ordinance for the new year based upon the increases provided for in the new budget for 1941. Seconded by Crandall. Carried. Bids were nerl received for purchase of ' gasoline from the followix;.g companies. Signal Oil Co., Claycomb Motor Co., General Petroleum Corp., Associa'ted Oil Co., Shell Oil Co., Union Oil Co., and Standard Oil Co. The bids of the Associated, Shell, and Standard Oil oompanies being identical or 14..90, 13.23 and 12.73 for the three grades of gasoline. Af:!;er some discussion, it was IIlOved by Applewhite and seconded by Crandall the't action be deterred on acceptance of the bids un'til the next meet~. Carried. The application of Pete BlllJ:lk, 542 "A" Street for endorsement "to the Oregon Li~ uor Control Commission was approved. Sup't Biegel was authorized to negotiate with D. Perrozzi ooncerning granite purchased fcr the streets. The following committee appointmentE were annolmced by the Mayor. Finance. Kooser.
