Mayor Wiley, Councilmen Applewhite, Crandall,. Daugherty, Koozer. Tayler. Woodell. Absent. None The purpose of the meeting was "to consider bids on the Polioe. Electric and Water Department cars for which bids had been called. Bids on all three cars were received from the Ford, Chevrolet, Plymouth-Dodge and Pontiac dealers which were read and ta~ ulated. The prices included trade-in allowances on the old cars, government tax and cash discount in some instances. The final net price low bid was as follows; Police Car, Selby Chevrolet Co. $540.00 (only .96t lower than Ford bid) Water Dep't Car, Beare Motor C.. $367.50 (Ford) Electric Department Car, Beare Motor Co. $474.32 (Ford) "'" - -- - -- ------ I NOT. 7, 1941 No. 33 ~ I I ~ r Following sollle disoussion on the adrlsabllity or distributing the business to the various dealers, it was moved by Crandall aM seconded by Woilldell that the three lowest be accepted and rollowing a unanimous roll call, it was carried. The pilrchase of the gang mower ror $435.00 and the tractor and side mower ror $994.70 __ next considered. The former to be purchased and sold to the Golr Club at $120.00 per year,$lO.OO per month; the latter to be rented at $180 per year, $l5.oo per month. It was moved by Koozer that the equipment be purchased contingent upon the exec- ution of the contraot with the Golr Club. Seconded by Woodell and rollowing a unanimous roll oall was carried. The sale of the five acre tract of air port property was considered, but no action taken pending an inspection or the prcperty by the Mayor and Council. The price per acre being considered satisractory, but the large amount or highway rrontage included being of questionable policy for the SlIlIl.ll amount or land involved. A contract of lease of the property operated by the Golf Club. but owned by the City of Ashland to the caretllker of the course in order for him "to obtain govermnent flmds was presented by "the City At"torney. The lease to rim ror one yearl. but renewable for another year. The purpose was ror him to run sheep on the course. Following a brier discussion, it was moved by Woodell and seconded by Daugherty that the lease be executed. Carried. On motion, the council adjourned to meet at::the call or the Mayor. Attest.
