The Counoil met in regular session at 7:30 P. M. this date. Present. Acting Mayor
Koozer, Councilmen Applewhite, Crandall, Daugherty. Absent. Mayor Wiley, Counoilmen
Woodell, Tayler.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Monthly reports of the Recorder and the Electric, Streut and Water Depar"bnents for
Ootober were read, aooepted and ordered placed on file.
Virgil Langtry, field oonsultant, Leagae of Oregon Cities. was present and invited
representatives of the City of Ashland to the regional conference of the League to be
Oheld at Medford on November 26th.
The City Recorder was instruoted "to notify the County Clerk that the City of Ashland
was not interested in Lot 9 of Blook 48 in the City of Ashland.
Renewal applioations to the Oregon State Liquor Control COlIlIlllission for the Hiok's
Grooery and F. H. Pearson were approved.
The following applications for building permits were presented.
No. 96: To ereot tIflW Drive-in-Market at '842 BOulevArd at an approximate oost of
$7.000.00 by E. H. MoGee(Previously approved) .
No. 97. To ereot wand shed at 376 Beach Street at an approximate oost of $160.00
by Walter Herndon.
No. 98. To ereot and remodel garage and house at 590 Mountain Avenue at an approxi-
mate oost of $1250.00 by E. L. McNeil.
It was moved by Applewhite and seoonded by Daugherty that the permits be granted.
Carried.
An offer of $1,000.00 for lO aores of air port property from R. D. Reynolds was

Bids for a motorcyole and a three wheeled1J':I]re~,e authorized to be oalled upon
motion by Daugherty, seconded by Applewhite and oarried.
Vam Dyke presented the necessity for the revival of the oiunp housing bureau at
Medford in order to maintain up to date imtormation on housing. Ashland's share being set
at $25000 per month. It was moved by Applewhite ahd seoonded by BaughertY'r:t~'!;..,.~L $26.00

An ordinance levying speoial benefit assessments against the several properties
benefited by the oonstruction of a curb and gutter on Allison and Idaho Streets and also
oil pavement on Allison, Idaho, Iowa, Palm, Seenio. Drive, Laurel and Sixth Streets was
read. It was moved by Appliwhite and seoonded by Crandall that the rules be suspended
and the llrdinanoe be passed to the second reading by title only. Carried. FolloWlbng the
second reading, it was moved by Applewhite and seconded by Daugherty that the ordinanoe
be adopted as read and following a unanimous roll oall was deolared passed. ?-;o 10:l-G'"
