Present, Mayor Wiley, CounoillllBn Appl61ri1ite. Koozer, Putman; Redford. Selby. Absent, COlmoilmlln Daugherty. The' purpose of the meeting was "to oonsider the leasing of the CQIIlJllIDlity Hospital. Before taking up the matter, however, the City At"torney'read a proposed resolution requesting that the City again haJJdle its own dog lioensing. It wa.s moved by Applewhi te, and seoonded by Koozer that the resolution be passed "to the seoond reading by title I only, the rules being suspended. Carried. ' Following the seoond reading. it was moved 1: II seoonded and oarried that the resolution be adopted as read end following a 'l"..nimoua ]!Oll \li&ll. the Mayor deolared the hsolution adopted. ' Jlr, Chas. A. Haines and Dr. R. E. Pos"ton were pre.sent. .The City At"torney read a letter from Mrs. Karl Nims stating that she wasoompelled 'to give up the lease on the Community HJlspi ~ ,:'!'\l1ohllll~l expb'ed on Deoem!>&r 3l, 1943 but whioh they had oontinued 'to operate on a'lla'f'lby ffil.f"be,Bis. Dr. Haines and Dr.,Poswn gave 'their viewe on the subjeot and other possible parties wbo might be interested were oonsidered. among whioh were Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Frazier and K~ Harkins. . At the oonclusion of a lengthy disoussion, it 1IBS moved by Koozer and seconded by PubDan that the looal people wbo might be interested in the lease be oon-taoted before the matter was advertised extensively in the state. Carried. It was moved by Koozer and seoonded by Applewhite that the City At"torney write Mrs. Nims "to stay ,on the job until arrangeJIIBnts oould be IIIl. de for some one else "to operate the hospital.
