J4ayor Wiley, Councilmen Daugherty, Putnan, Selby, Weitzel. Absent: Councilmen Merrill, Red1'ord. The meeting was called especially 'to hear a water repor't by 'the Ci'ty Sup't. The City Superin'tendent repor'ted that there was 17 second feet of wa'ter at Buok Lalce, and 'tha't 'there 1I'aS also water available f'rom Grouse Creek. He also repor'ted that Medford had 7t second f'eet cf water, which they were not using and wha't might be obteined. Considerable discussion f'ollowed. A new City sub-division having been pla't'ted, and being desighated as 'the Be81l'ick Addition, was aooepted upon motion by Selby, seconded by Pu'tllan and carried. This pro- perty was 'the former site of 'the old Sou'thern Oregon Normal School and is all located wi'thin 'the city limits, and will be sub-divided in'to 22 city lots. A petition signed by 41 business men of' 'the Ci'ty pro 'testing agains't 'the proposed nCn Street erlension was read and discussed. , A le't'ter from Mr. C. H. Abrams, Portland, Oregon, who was interested in purchas- ing the Ashland Golf Course _s read. Mr. Abrllm8 stated that every 'thing seemed accept- able but the &%pense of water for irriga'tion at the course was not es'timated. A shor't , discussion tollawed. .
