Fischborn, Merrill, Nosler, Redford, neitzel. Absent: None The minutes of the previous meeting were rend and approved as read. Monthly reports of the Electric, S'treet and Water Departments and City Recorder were rend, accepted and ordered placed on file. It connection with the Recorder's report, it was moved by Fischborn and seconded by Relford that the following funds be invested: $1,000.00 in Cemetery Trust Funds. $3.,000.00 in Consumers' Deposits $10,000.00 in Fire Station Building Funds It was moved by Redford and seconded by Merrill, that the Recreation Committee submit its report for the year 1947. for A bill from M. C. Lininger & Sons in the amount o~ $807.70/use of trucks and shovel at the flood near the Weitzel building was approved upon motion, made seconded and carried un~~impusly. A report of the Planning Commission in which they recommended zoning.for business of a strip 200 feet wide on either side of the Highway~6 'e: also the south side of Highway,", 99 fro:n the old city limits 1,0 Peachy Road, the north side being already zoned for business. Perry Bentley asked for the job of painting the warehouse and City Hall. He was referred to the City Sup't for conference later on when the jobs would be under con- sideration. Mr. A. D. Harvey, Consulting Engineer made his report on reco~lldations for making improvements to correct future trouble due to floods in Ashland Creek. He recommended paving the floor of the creek as a means or increasing the flow of the creek by about 20 %. His report which is on file mentioned four plans with estimated costs as follows: Plan No.1. $16,140.00 with a new Armco Steel Arch 18 ft. in diameter. Plan No.2. $ 9,130.00 for paving floor of existing structure and extemsion with rectangular concre1e culvert, 16 ft wide, 9 ft high and 55 feet long. Plan No.3. $4,280.00 for pavement of existing culvert .nth extension of this pavement down stream. Plan No.4 $6,700.00 for pavement of the floor of the creek in existing culvert, and pavement of an outlet to proteet buildings. He recommended Plan No. 2 as the best solution. Followong a thorough discussion on the matter, it was moved by Fischborn and seoonded by Redford that Mr. Harvey proceed with plans and soecif;cations of Plan No. 2. Carried. It was also moved by Merrill and seconded by Weitzel that a temporary bridge be constructed to allow traffic thru the park. Carried. It was also moved by Fischborn that the Ci~' proceed with plans and specificat- ions for a filtration plant and small reservoir and two intermediate standpipes. Seconded and Carried. It was moved by Redford that the City Attorney prepare a resolution thanking the Kiwanis and the Southern Pacific Co. in appreciation of their services in the distrib- ution of water during the period that the Ashland water was unfit for use.
