Present: Mayor Wiley, Councilmen Daugherty, Fischborn, MerrillO Redford. Absent: COltncilmen NosIer, Weitzel. , The purpose of t he meeting was to g;nhe proposed plSl:ls and s]Jl cifications of the ,water filtration pla~and reservoirs for which the $400,000.00 in bonds were sold. Mr. Harvey and Mr. Watkins both explained the plans and answered questions which came up and upon completion of the explaus tion and upon the recommendation of engineers. it was moved, by Merrill and seconded by Redf'mrd that Mr. A. D. Harvey be authorized to place advert- ising bids for the project. Carried. Following disoussion as to time for acceptance of the bids, it was moved by Fmschbmrn and seconded by Redford that June 14th a1; 2:00 P. M. be" set as the day and hour for receiving.and opening 'the bids. Carried. <==) The City Attorney reported that Art Peters had a party who wanted a 20 years lease at $300.00 per year for the property now leased by Peters. The party if receiving the lease would construct a plant costing frOJ;jl $100,000.00 t<1..~;l,i20.9P.o..P,Q, ~n it, It was moved by Fischborn and seconded by Merrill that the City~l.I'.tI'~se as requested with the stipulations as above mentioned. Absent: Councilman NosIer. I The purpose of the n~eting was to pass on the budget as submitted. Following the st study of the budget at which ' certain changes were found necessary in order to cmme under the 6 per cent limitation, Weitzel brought up the question of payment by the City for the alteration of the corner of the Weitzel Building as recommended by the City. .He said the actual cost was in the neighborhood of $5,000.00, but that it was an improvement to his property and he would be satisfied with $300 or $400.00. It was moved by Redford and seconded by Fischbmrn that Weitzel be re-embursed in the amount of $500.00. Carried. WILEY, MAYOR May 27, 1948 No. 25 The Council met in adjourned session at 5 :00 P. M. this date. Present: Mayor Wiley, Councilmen Daugherty, Fischborn, Merrill, NosIer. Redford. Weitxel. Absent: None. . The purpose of the meet; ing was to continue study of the budget. particularly means of' reducing it to come within the 6 per cent limitation. Miss Mason. D,on Spencer and Mrs. Fred Engle of the Library Board were preeent as both the Library Fund and the General Fund were over the limitation. Increased costs in both supplies and services but with limitatnon of only 6 per cent as set by law over the highest of the last three tax years made it necessary to make some changes. It was decided to eliminate entirely the propoeed radio am transmitter forihe Police. Fire and Electric Departments in order to reduce the budget to the required amount.. o On Motion, the Council adjourned to meet at the crall Attest: (Signed) J. Q.
