What schools have you attended?
Vermilion Community College Ely, MN and SOU
What degrees do you hold?
AAS Forestry and Wildlife Management
BS Environmental Science: Biology
2. Related Experience
What prior work experience have you had that would help you if you were appointed to
this position?
I have volunteered on prescribed bums. I worked for the Forest Service years ago doing
Old Growth Surveys.
Do you fed it would be advantageous for you to have further training in this field, such
as attending conferences or seminars? Why?
Of course, there is always more to learn.
3. Interests
Why are you applying for this position?
I have wanted to apply for a City commission position for a long time and just haven't
found the right fit. I have always been interested in fire management and feel that fire
danger in Ashland is a real concern. I would like to help address that concern and feel
that my diverse background could benefit the commission.
4. Availability
Are you available to attend special meetings, in addition to the regularly scheduled
meetings? Do you prefer day or evening meetings?
I could do an occasional daytime meeting but prefer evenings (after 5pm).

Through my education, personal experience, and my work in the field, I have developed
knowledge of how to manage ecosystems as a whole. I also have knowledge of plant
material, fire habits, and home construction.
