This agreement is entered into by the Snroptimists International of Ashland, herein-
after called "SOROPTHlISTS", and the City of Ashland, Oregon, hereinafter called "CITY".
REC IT ALS

WHEREAS, the Soroptimists desire to provide a van-type bus to the City to assist in
the transportation needs of the senior citizens of Ashland; and
WHEREAS, the City has agreed to accept the use of the van; and
WHEREAS, it is the, desire of the parties to set forth the terms and conditions regard-
ing the use and ownership of the van, which shall be as follows:
,'AGREEMENT
Use. The van shall be utilized solely for the purpose of transporting seniors
to scheduled activities, to meal sites, or on preplanned routes, and shall be coordin-
ated to the maximum extent possible with 'Rogue Valley Transportation District routes
and schedules. ,The van shall not be used on an "on-call" basis.
Title and License. The Soroptimists shall retain title to the van as legal owner,
with the City being the registered owner and licensee.
Insurance. City shall be responsible for providing adequate public liability and
property damage insurance, and for providing comprehensive and collision insurance with
the Soroptimists to receive any settlement in the case of a total loss.
~laintenance and Repair~.. City shall be responsible for normal and customary main-
tenance and repairs.
Donations. Donations will be accepted but not required for senior citizens using
the van, and shall be used solely to help defray expenses of maintenance and operating
the van,
E1iqibility. All persons over age 60 shall be eligible to ride the van.
ManninQ. City will provide ~ driver ~nd shall be responsible for selection, train-
ing, and supervision of such driver,
funding. Soroptimists agr~e to annually provide a sum of not less than one thousC
and dollars ($1,000) to partially defray the expenses fOr fuel, maintenance and insul'-
ance, payable on December 1, 1981 .
The foregoing agreement shall be effective upon the date of its acceptance by the par-
ties, and shall expire on June 30, 1982 , unless extended by mutual consent of the
parties. Upon expiration of this agreement, tha van shall be returned to Soroptimists
in a satisfactory condition, reasonable wear and tear excepted. The agreement may.be
renegotiated in April of each year for the following fiscal year.
